Until recently Micro Needling was rather dear and required frequent trips to see a specialist; however Microneedling is now a common place practice in most normal house holds. The Dermaroller is a simple device with many sterilized microscopic needles which, {as they are rolled over the skin}, carefull separate the pores of the epidermis and set off the healing process increasing the production of collagen and elastin.

Collagen is important for skin to heal to a cosmetic level

Collagen and elastin are the main factors in the compilation of stretch marks, the primary cause of the compilation of skin conditions including stretch marks and scarring is that there is not enough|there is a lack of collagen and elastin in the skin, when this is replaced the skin returns to its original smooth state. When the skin is injured, such as a puncture, the skin repairs itself to stay healthy; but unfortunately the skin doesn’t recognise that scars are undesirable.

In order to remove striae, scarring and Wrinkles, the skin needs to believe that there is reason to begin healing itself and produce more collagen and elastin, skin needling achieves this by gently seperating the pores of the epidermis giving the impression of the skin being damaged and needing to be repaired. Repeating the process of Microneedling will ensure your skin continues to heal itself until it is completely healed.

Is a Derma roller the best option?

Compared to other therapies (and when done at home), Microneedling is much cheaper and better then treatments such as purely using creams because the skin absorbes only a tiny percentage of creams applied, however when applied after using the skin roller the creams are absorbed significantly better as the pores are open.
